Looking for something much better than the $3 off coupons everywhere.

Some out-of-state friends and their family are coming to town and we want to treat them. Buying that many tickets is a sizable chunk of money! Looking to make it a little more affordable.

Feel free to backchannel me your excellent, secret source if you don't want to broadcast it publicly.

Unfortunately, there's not a wide black market for buying Ren Fest tickets, mainly because we nerds are terrified of breaking the law. That being said, the information desks at the University of Minnesota Student Unions have some pretty solid deals on Ren Fest tickets...I mean, it ain't too much, but based on the website you get around $4 off for an adult, along with some discounts for kids and food.

And they're for the general public, not just students. AND they're open until 11 pm (in Minneapolis), even though nobody in their right mind needs a question answered at 10:30 at night on a Friday in the middle of a student union.

Good to know, but the extra dollar doesn't really make up for driving into the congestion of the U, and paying for parking.

Hmm, I've never noticed that nerds are any more terrified of breaking the law than the average citizen. But I wasn't referring to "hot" tickets (?? !!), just a better discount than the same $3 off coupons I see every year...

Quick update... So far, I've found some $5 off coupons online and a neighborhood paper that offers 2 free tickets for an annual "subscription".
