I may be relocating to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area for a new position in the next few weeks and I need help in locating some of the great and safe neighborhoods. I have a family of 5 (my wife, myself and 3 children ages 11, 7 and 3) and one of the things I'm looking for is a neighborhood with great schools. My children are very active in sports and other recreational events and programs. My wife is developing a web base business and we're looking for a positive change in our lives. We are relocating from NC. I'm a professional person and I may be working in SE Minneapolis. Now I have lived in cities before living in Baltimore, Philadelphia and a few small cities too. We visited Bloomington, MN earlier in the year and my wife like Bloomington because she really never lived in a city. I grew up outside Philadelphia and spent a lot of time in NYC. Now I really love Minneapolis and what the region have to offer. Can someone give us some ideas. Thank you!

Welcome to Minnesota! The Twin Cities overall is a very safe region, and I think you'll really appreciate the quality of life its offers. If you're working in SE Minneapolis, you may wish to look at areas such as Nokomis in the city itself, or Edina (if budget allows) or St. Louis Park in the suburbs. In general, I think schools are better in the suburbs than the city, and in that respect, Edina has one of the best in the state.

What is your budget? Are you looking to rent or own? Do you want to live strictly in an urban environment or are you considering suburban or rural locations? If you could provide more details, we can offer more specific and helpful suggestions.
