Volunteer for Twin Cities Marathon - Sun Oct 5th (vehicles, medical)

Please consider serving as a volunteer course marshal for the Twin Cities Marathon and TC 10 Mile. This is a great way to see the races up close, support the runners, and be an important part of a world-renowned event that our community is rightfully proud to host every year!

The marathon field is full to capacity again this year – the 28th straight year that it’s reached capacity – with participants from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico and 21 other countries. Approximately 12,000 run the marathon and 8000 run the TC 10 Mile.

Course marshals are needed on Sunday October 5th from 6 AM until about 1 PM. The basic job is “manning the barricades” – keeping vehicles off the course and spectators from impeding runners. Course marshals also watch for runners in distress who might need medical aid. We provide training and support. Coffee, cold drinks, water, breakfast food, and snacks are provided. You'll get a colorful t-shirt to wear on race day that will be yours to keep afterwards.

Go to Register to participate with Twin Cities In Motion through VolunteerLocal! to register. DON’T CHECK ANY OF THE BOXES AT FIRST, but instead enter CMSECTION1314 in the password box at the top (where it says “Have a password? Enter it here”). After entering the password, place a check in the box for our section and complete the rest of the info (email address, name, address, emergency contact, etc. There’s another check box at the bottom for the disclaimer. When all complete, click “Sign up to volunteer” box at the bottom and then you’re “all official.” Thank you!

We're specifically asking here for course marshals along the beautiful East River Parkway, but there are numerous other volunteer roles still available.
