Yep I'd agree Plymouth would be good and also (parts of) Maple Grove. Not sure about prices so much... but I know they vary so you'd likely be able to find something within each.

Irvine, Lakewood Ranch, the Villages, Thousand Oaks, Mission Viejo, Valencia, etc. Lots of them in California, Texas and Florida. Very few in the midwest but they are becoming more common, albeit nothing anywhere near the scale of those on the coasts.

Sure. those are much much smaller. Wedgwood in Woodbury, Stonehaven in Eagan, there are others going up in Plymouth and Maple Grove. Many don't have community pools, extensive trail systems, retail, etc. of the huge ones.

What's a "Master Planned Community" and how is it different from any other suburban development?

I think from my understanding master planned communities are subdivisions of cities which are usually very large and have lakes usually and along with bike walking trails and usually lots of parks. These type of communities are what you would find in the growing suburbs like in the Twin Cities, which I think the word planned community is over used around here because most of them really aren't. Some of these communities have home owners associations and alot of the homes are custom built by the buyer with a number of plans to choose from and usually are pricey (meaning that instead of every house being the exact same, buyers get to choose what type of house they want to build). Others are more extensive making them self-sufficient communities with everything you need in a short distance, these are usually located in large metropolitan areas along the coasts and also the sun belt like Florida, Texas, and Arizona. I hope that makes sense.
