For the record, I am well informed. I read the Strib every day and only noticed an article on day three of the missing report. I watch KARE11 news at 5:00 every day and only noticed a report yesterday. Maybe I somehow missed the blaring headlines, but I doubt it.
Let's get this straight... there is no racism in Minnesota.
Well, there is a little bit. It is racist to suggest that someone might be racist. Thus, you are actually guiltier of racism than the news or anyone else on this thread.

His disappearance was widely covered on Thursday then dropped off almost completely on Friday so I assumed that he had been found. Unfortunately that wasn't what happened, but I then assumed that they have more information than is being released to the public.

When his dad first reported him missing, he said that it was possible that his son was with a friend. That, combined with the security footage showing him walking away from the building did not cause an alert to be sent out. When the boy didn't show up after a day, they publicized the story again. Based on the coverage, I think they may know or at least suspect who he is with (i.e. his mom).

So, I don't think that the apparent lack of news coverage has anything to do with race. If it turns out that they have absolutely no clue where he is, then I'd agree that it may be because of his race.

(added) after posting this I checked the website of a local TV channel...turns out that the dad is a suspect.

It was reported by fox9 news, the Strib, and BringMeTheNews on Friday, March 20. KSTO, WCCO and MPR reported it on Thursday.

I think the problem is that you claimed racial prejudice on an issue that didn't exsist. It was reported, you just didn't see it. I'd say you better make sure there really is an issue in the first pkace before you pull out the race card.

As far as I could tell, they had largely ignored it until then.

Had this had been a 10 year old blond girl from Eden Prairie, I'm certain there would have been an immediate Amber Alert and massive TV news coverage including desperate and gasping reporting from Esme Murphy.

Ummmm, really? It's only been the leading story on the local news stations every night now, for about a week.....

You missed it.

I regularly read KARE.com, the Fox 9 news app on my phone, Startrib.com, twincities.com, just to name 4 local stations, and every single one of them had the news starting last Friday.

There have been regular updates.

I listen to WCCO radio and they talk about it daily as well.

As others have mentioned, dad is now a suspect and has been "less than truthful". I believe the family is from Liberia.

I JUST checked Kare11.com, and it is still on the "front page". Scroll down...there it is, with a big picture of the 10 year old. It's been on the "front page" since Friday.
