I am thinking of moving to Minneapolis/St. Paul area from Denver in August. I am currently attending a solid Christian Bible preaching church in Denver. I am curious if there are any solid (non seeker friendly) churches in the metro area? Also, I am looking for a solid Christian singles community to fellowship with.

Any ideas?

There is a complete range of churches in the Twin Cities. I am going to suggest Bethlehem Baptist for you. John Piper recently retired as the preaching pastor there, so you know it's solid, Bible based teaching. They have several campuses so location should not be an issue. You can check out his website at www.desiringgod.org Bethlehem's website is www.hopeingod.org .

I'm not single so I am not your best source for that, but you might connect through your church.

The term "seeker friendly" refers to churches where the service is oriented to new believers, or people who are not believers but who are open to the idea. Some people feel that these types of churches can be shallow and try to avoid them.

Thanks, I was genuinely curious. In retrospect, I probably should have just Googled it.

No problem. I took it as a sincere question and tried to give a straight up answer. I admire someone who can say "I don't know." It's not a term you'd hear outside of evangelical Christian circles.

Glenfield,
Thank you so much for your response. I am familiar with Bethlehem baptist as I'm a follower of John Piper's ministry, I just don't want the "mega church" feel. I'm glad to hear there are a few different campuses to choose from. Thank you again for your insight in this, navigating new waters is tricky, but I have faith that God will guide my steps and establish them where the need to be.

I appreciate your help!!

That term has confused me as well. Does that also mean that "non seeker" churches subscribe to a literal interpretation of scripture?

No, it doesn't. Seeker friendly has to do with the style of worship, the music etc. I've traveled in evangelical Christian circles for many years and have never come across a church that believes in a literal interpretation of the Bible. They seems to be most prevalent in the secular media.
