We are moving to a new house in June end. We are already stressed out.
Just wanted to know if any of you have suggestions for where to get these installed.

Blinds installations
Water softener
Washer Dryers

Blinds are really easy unless you have some extremely tall windows or something. Usually just a few screws per window and then they snap in.

Water softener isn't too bad as long as the existing piping is there. If no existing piping then I would have this installed professionally. Any plumber should be able to accomplish this, if you already have the unit.

Washer and Dryer are easy if the piping/exaust ducting is there. Believe in yourself!

When we built in 2010, both Lowes and Home Depot had whole house measuring and installation of blinds for something like $150, with purchase of blinds through them. We went with Lowes - they carried pretty large selections of Bali, Levelor and other major players.

Between Bali and Levelor options, we found what we liked for a variety of windows and one sliding patio door and scheduled the measuring. The guy came out and measured within a couple of days, then he verified and placed out order. Blinds were delivered directly to our house and as soon as we had all shipments, called him to install, which he did quickly and professionally in a single visit which took between two and three hours (15 windows on two floors plus the patio door).

The guy did not work for Lowes, but rather was a contractor. He was great at it. Best $150 ever spent (well, aside from good food and drinks).

Our builder told us to hold off on softening water for the first six months of occupancy. We have PEX or CPCV pipes - something about allowing a coating (of what?) to form inside the pipes before adding softened water to the system. Could have been blowing smoke, but six months without softened water was no big deal for us.

Washers and Dryers - Sears, Lowes, Home Deport, Warners Stellion all sell and deliver/hookup. We went with Lowes, just because they had what we wanted at the best price for those models at that time. Again, easy delivery and hookup.
