My son is planning to move to Mcnally Smith to do his undergrad from India.

Needed some feedback on safety for students, possibility of getting bread and bfast option with an Indian Family out there.

Anything I need to know as an anxious parent.

The school is located in downtown St. Paul, which has rather sleepy reputation, but has been improving significantly. There are lots of new apartments that have opened up recently increasing both liveliness and population of downtown. It's been a few years since I've spent much time in dwtn St. Paul, but the area is very safe in daytime and reasonably safe at night.
St. Paul has lots of great neighborhoods and downtown is well-served by several bus lines and one light rail line.
I have no idea about an Indian b&b arrangement, though there certainly is a decent sized Indian community in the Twin Cities.

There are apartment buildings that many of the students seem to live at. One is located on Wabasha St & 4th St in Downtown St Paul. I used to work across the street & every Fall there would be moving trucks, with incoming students & parents helping them move in parked out front. I was told those apartments served as sort of a low cost, dorm for the students. I would contact McNally-Smith & ask them to help you with this question. I'm sure they can direct you to their dorms or certain apartments near campus that are popular with incoming students. I'm sorry to say there aren't many Indian family's in the Twin Cities & those that are seem to be in the Southwest suburbs, 30 minutes away by car.
