You'd be nuts to live more than 2 miles from William Mitchell. It is actually an incredible neighborhood around there. Lots of fun, safe, authentic charm, etc.

WM is uniquely located in a very nice residential neighborhood with numerous apartments filled with people who purposely live there even though they have to drive some distance to work and school. These tend to be older apartments with nice woodwork, hardwood floors, etc. The only reason I could think of for living elsewhere would be a preference for newer buildings with heated parking, etc. If that's the case, the Riverview at Upper Landing (suggested above) are very nice. My son lives there and likes it.

Thank you all so much for your responses. Being that I'm living in NYC and NJ currently and need to begin classes on August 10 I don't have much time to shop around. I checked out Riverview but I think thats a little bit too far. I think I'm going to stick with Victoria Park because I think its a beautiful building (I also love the underground heated garage for my car) and its close enough that I can drive to school in 5 minutes or less and I could always leave my car at the school's lot and walk to Grand Ave after classes.

They both look to be same distance between the two places you mentioned. The Riverview is a much nicer area though and walkable to Xcel energy center (MN Wild play there) and fun bars and restaurants on W 7th near the Xcel.
