..or if there is another not listed, please advise. This is for an interior paint job.

Also, has anyone ever use the feature offered on Behr's website where you can preview color schemes on photos you upload? The service is $4.95/yr.

Most paint companies have a free service on their websites to look at various color combinations. I prefer Benjamin Moore paint but Valspar and Behr are good as well.

I prefer Benjamin Moore also; but according to Consumer Reports, the important thing is to use top-of-the-line paints since cheap paints don't cover as well nor do they last as long as better grades of paint.

When we were first married, my husband and I bought some cheap paint from Wards. It took 3 coats (and 2 gallons!) to cover a slightly darker beige than we were trying to paint. I learned back then that some things may cost more initially but they end up being cheaper in the long run.

I think ValSpar is known as a very quality paint but I have never used it. We've used a lot of Behr - in general, it's fairly affordable, covers very well and we have been happy with it. Home Depot also has a color guide in all of their stores for behr colors where you can do combinations. If you do use Behr, one point of caution, about 15- 20 minutes go back and look everywhere you've painted, whereas right after you've painted there may not be any drips, we've found a number that have formed 10 - 20 minutes after painting.

I painted our entire 1920s house this year with ValSpar from Lowes. One coat, in most areas, and it couldn't have gone on smoother. It also has the primer in it already so sand it down to bare wood (as the previous paint may not have been primed) and slap it on. That's it. It's very thick and covers cracks and holes well. Highly recommended. Our house now looks like it has vinyl siding.

Default Valspar latex - inferior interior

We prep for 3 days, a small bathroom, and we did everything by the book, yet days later this VALSPAR latex paint peels off to the slightest touch. I will have to repaint with REAL PAINT asap.

Never use latex and Valspar paint. It takes at least 30 days to cure and sometimes it never cures.
