Not related to the thread, but they use the "Vegas" label in Minnesota also? What exactly does it mean?

It's derogatory...right? No?

Does it apply to the fact that a place may be boring... so locals jazz it up by adding Vegas at the end?

Marshfield, Massachusetts, a desirable community 25 miles south of Boston, on the ocean, is sometimes called Marsh Vegas by locals. At first I thought it refers to the local townies in the less desirable area of that town, but not sure.

So when I saw Wood Vegas here, it caught my curiosity.

And, after 18 years of delays, we're getting a Costco (barring further delays).

Fingers crossed.

I've never heard it called Wood Vegas, and I grew up in the area. Maybe it's a new thing.

could be a reference to the faux-wood trimmed Chevy Vega that so many of the Woodbury residents tend to hang onto

You win! My GF in H.S. drove a Vega and I remember climbing out of the passenger window in a snowstorm to scrape the windshield because the wipers were worthless. "Check the gas, fill up the oil!"

Are any of these still roaming the Earth?

What Maple Grove didn't even make the list! #1 last year! Probably due to all the new houses going up, prices I guess aren't considered affordable. Since that's one of their criteria I highly doubt it will be in the top 10 for a while.
