So in the whole Twin Cities area - what are the school districts to stay away from and why?

Check out Woodbury--most of this burb is in South Washington County ISD 833. Our kids are thriving there, son is in a gifted and talented program.

Minneapolis, St. Paul, North St. Paul/Tartan and South Washington County Schools (mainly Cottage Grove but I an not a fan of Woodbury either). This is my short list of stay away from schools. Why, because there are much better schools within 5 to 10 minutes of these so why go to not so good schools when you can go to excellent schools.

What do you mean by good? Minnesota's test scores last year were very poor. Teachers are underpaid, school are underfunded nationwide. If you mean by good- you mean a wealthy neighborhood with a somewhatdecent tax base for education and where referendums to increase funding for education almost always pass then you want to move to the nieghborhoods where the average household incomes and average home values are higher.

Which test scores? MN students seemed to do rather well on the ACT last year, for example, which is the main AP test in the midwestern US

Just curious...
