It looks like we will have to rent when/if we move to MSP this year. I don't mind mainly because I would like to get to know an area better before we buy, and also because I anticipate a difficult selling season in Metro Detroit for quite a while
.
We have two dogs, which I figure will be the main issue in our rental search. Nonsmokers.
I tried looking on realtor.com for available rentals in the Eastern suburbs (Woodbury primarily) but didn't get a single hit. Can anyone suggest a better place to look? Is Craigslist helpful for this? Thanks so much!

Craigslist was a great source when I looked for a short term rental. I rented a brand new condo month-to-month. Sales are slow, so both owners and sometimes the builder/developer (small time guys) are open to renting. My place was even furnished, because that's what I needed, but furniture was optional.

Local newspapers are your best bet. I don't know of any in Woodbury but if you did a search they would pop up.

definitely see what you can find on craigslist. I find that the most valuable resource for apts/rentals.

craigslist, rent.com, apartments.com. we lived in the grand reserve townhomes in woodbury for a month, my husband's company put us up there when we first moved, and they were nice, took dogs, a bit expensive, but then much of woodbury is.
