I'm sure there are no places that are totally kid free, but what are some neighborhoods and/or cities in the great Minneapolis area that have low numbers of children?

We are DINKS, and we are night owls. We don't throw wild parties or anything crazy, but we do enjoy late night activities and random stuff like grocery shopping when everyone else is asleep, or walking the dog at unconventional hours. However we don't like the noise and antics of kids.
So are there any places you would recommend?

My suggestion: move to an area known for a diversity of life situation and lifestyles, which includes families raising young children. When you see or hear the "noise and antics of kids," take a moment to thank their parents for raising the next generation that will help to fund your social insurance in your old age.

I live in a kid-heavy suburb, and I see people running, walking their dogs, or just leaving and returning to their garages at all times of night or very early morning. I think it is possible to go about your business at any time and not disrupt people around you.

I'd look in the North Loop in Minneapolis or Lowertown in St. Paul.

I'd look at Millionaire's Row, over by the Guthrie/Gold Medal Park in downtown Minneapolis. Condos start at around $400,000 and cap out around $3,000,000. Apartments start at approximately $2,800 and cap out around $12,000. Very few kids in that area; even the park is frequented by people 25+. The buildings themselves are almost entirely absent of kids; as most of the folks living there are either Single / High-Income w/ No Kids or DINKs.

People on CD will give someone crap about anything. There is nothing wrong with wanting a quiet neighborhood without a ton of kids around. We would have considered that criteria when house hunting but our checklist was already too long. I'm not sure why some people think that means you don't respect families with children and their contributions to society. I have a lot of respect for people who do the hard work of raising children but I'd prefer to have them at a bit of a distance. I also respect people who can answer a simple request for information without snark.
