Hello all,

I will be living temporarily in Minneapolis/St. Paul and am researching apartment options. I will be working at the University of Minnesota. I do not necessarily want to be too close to the campus as, at 45, I don't need to be in the thick of college student shenanigans.....

At this moment, I do not know my stipend amount for living, but it should be pretty solid, and I'm sure I can afford anything from at least 1 to 1.5 K. I do not necessarily need to spend that much, but I should have options.

My main questions are:

1. Any recommended properties with furnished apartments? I am also looking for somewhere that has on-site or in-unit laundry and an onsite gym (or a gym nearby) if possible. Covered parking would also be nice.

2. Any good websites to find said apartments? I tried apartments dot com but the keyword "furnished" did not appear to give accurate results.

3. Good vs. Bad areas

4. Anything else that you think is important to consider?

Thank you,

PS - I will have a car, so public transit proximity is not important.

If you are planning to work on the UofM campus (either East or West Bank), using public transportation (or biking) to get there and back is important unless one is ready to park a long way from the campus buildings and pay a considerable amount for the privilege.
