Hello,

My little girl was recently diagnosed with ASD (she's 2.5 years old) and she's currently doing home-based ABA. My husband and I are looking to buy a house in the Twin Cities and are looking for good school districts for children with autism. Does anyone have any suggestions on good preschools/pre-K programs in public schools? We're considering the following areas: Edina, Southwest Minneapolis, Plymouth (Wayzata schools), St. Anthony, and Shoreview (Mounds view school district). Our jobs will be in Minneapolis and Roseville. If anyone has any tips on programs we'd be so grateful! Thank you!

Yes, Fraser... We're on their wait list for ABA and day treatment. They have absolutely no estimate of how long it will take as if parents don't have a life and are just stand-by. What am I supposed to, quit my job until Fraser decides to offer me a spot on their full-day ABA program? I called their preschool program but it's not a daycare for ASD kids. The director said that day treatment is usually better for these kids, but then again I have NO idea how long it will take for my child to get in. And even then, we're going to need daycare, as day treatment is only 3.5 hours a day. So, what are we to do in the meantime? Is there a daycare (full-time daycare) that has a smaller teacher-to-child ratio for toddlers and that has onsite speech/OT or that is open to having ABA therapists go there? Anywhere in the Minneapolis area?

I have to strongly disagree with Fraser.
