Looking for something over the weekend. I would do do Westin in Edina but that's too close to home. Something near MOA wouldn't be bad but over the weekend, you're dealing with families and kids. Downtown sounds exciting but now you're paying for parking. Looking to pay under $150. preferably with a jacuzzi or hot tub. Also close enough to restaurants.

I looked up some older threads with the same topic and the Marquette didn't look bad. But just want other suggestions .

most all the downtown hotels do the majority of their business during the work week catering to business travelers and have their best rates on weekends. Play around with Hotwire on different weekends and you will find a good price.

I just checked and saw that a 4 1/2 star hotel, on the weekend before the 4th was $331. Two weeks later that 4 1/2 star (probably the same one) was going for $121. That's probably their "basic" room, but at a 4 1/2 star hotel, you'll probably have the jacuzzi. They also have a 4 star listed at $98.

Mainly because I have been curious about St. Paul lately but never get over there, I would suggest something like the Doubletree Hotel in dt St. Paul. You can explore the restaurants in Lowertown, or get over to Cathedral Hill.
