I saw a stretch of new houses on Humboldt Ave between 51st and 53rd aves. on Google Maps one day. Anyone know the background of these?

Humboldt Greenway- a big redevelopment effort several years back where they basically tried to get the 'feel' of Victory Memorial Parkway by using Craftsman/Tudor design elements and green boulevard space with newer SFHs and townhomes. Humboldt Greenway (lot of results come up for 'humboldt greenway' on google as well).

They're pretty nice- I think a few have gone into foreclosure over the past few years but doesn't seem to be too many HG homes on the market the last few times I've checked MLS (so I think they are somewhat retaining original value). I have a friend that owns one of the townhome's, he's a school principal so it works great for them to spend the summers at their lake cabin. Some other good friends of ours live a few blocks away in a 1950s 1 1/2 story- they have great neighbors and seem to enjoy the n'hood.

Just checked out the website and I'm really impressed. Nice to see the architecture fits in with the neighborhood somewhat.

Interestingly, the architecture somewhat fits in better with the neighborhoods due south (webber parkway and victory memorial parkway which humboldt connects to)- the 'traditional'-style design elements utilized for Humb Greenway homes actually pre-date most of the 50s ranches/cape cods found in Lind-Bohanon and Shingle Creek n'hoods where they reside.
