The evil behavior needs to be owned by the left, right and center as at various times individuals from all three groups do evil acts. Anyone that believes that evil is done ONLY by people on one side of the political spectrum is clearly delusional or unreasonably biased IMO. I believe that regarding both liberals that view conservatives in that manner and also conservatives that direct it at liberals.
For the record, Jared Lee Loughner (who shot Giffords) held a stated view that women should not be elected or appointed to powerful positions. That is definitely a political viewpoint/statement. He resented that she was in Congress and he was ultimately determined sane enough to be tried in court.
