I wanna take the kids bike riding. But the youngest has training wheels so I'm not looking for a long distance bike trail. Just something with beautiful scenery where he can ride for fun. Preferably a playground near by as well. Maybe even a basketball court. All of those are not requirements just preferences .

Minnehaha creek is an ideal trail. Depending where you start, you should be able to run into parks along the way with playgrounds/basketball courts.

There is a new 3 mile trail at the end of Lyndale avenue (near the Minnesota river) that is perfect for kids—hardly any hills!

The path around Veteran’s Park in Richfield is low traffic compared to the more popular Minneapolis lakes and it’s a pretty short loop around but with decent scenery.

Another place worth checking out is a tennis court that was converted into a bike park right in between Lake Nokomis and Lake Hiawatha.

Hyland Park Reserve is great for family activities. The trails are paved, there is a small lake, a great playground and a swimming beach. Also has several parking lots with ample parking.
