Likely traveled through Cheeseville on the way here, should look into travel restrictions from there

It was all a matter of when, not if.

Yeah, it's coming. No need to panic though. Treat it like the flu. Most people who get it will be fine. I saw a chart recently and the VAST majority of deaths are people over 70 y/o, just like the flu. Also remember that thousands and thousands of people who only had mild symptoms never reported to the hospital, so they aren't factored into the mortality rate. So whatever the reported mortality rate it is, it's a safe bet that it's less than 1/2 of that. Then factor in the % of people who are heavy smokers in China & Italy, which is clearly going to make it tougher to fight off a respiratory illness like the Corona flu.

21 cases now, including a teenager. Walz is holding a press conference Sunday in correlation with the schools. They're going to be closed...bank on it.

Spring break just became pre-summer vacation.

Unless schools have an online learning program in place, kids will be in school this summer to make up for lost instructional days.

Thing is my kids were just about to return from spring break and start their 3rd trimester. They won't have any introduction to their new teachers and classes if they have to go online. Guess they'll have to adapt if that's the case. We're all having to adapt in one way or another.

It's hard to imagine him doing this big press conference just to say we are keeping schools open. Most schools already have some type of onling learning platform. Last week my district laid out exactly what e-learning would look like, so I'm guessing others are similar. Friday morning we talked to students how e-learning would look. We've been told that we need to bring all items needed for instruction home every day in case school is cancelled and we can't get back into the school.

I don't think anyone wants to teach this summer.

My wife is a public school teacher. She has received no word, either official or unofficial, from administration that a closure is imminent or even likely. However, there is widespread thought among her colleagues that it is inevitable. She's already begun working on plans for distance instruction (as best that can be done - she teaches kindergarten, and there are significant limits on what can be done there) for her students. She spent all day yesterday doing so.
