So far, our kid's school (Minnetonka) has not decided what type of opening they are going to have for the 2020-2021 school year. They have 7 options so far and they are going to narrow that down. I think the schools should do e-learning until we can evaluate how other schools did in Minnesota and other states and evaluate what to do after 2-3 months. You don't have to brainstorm or reinvent the wheel when you can learn from other mistakes and successes. Let the early opening states lead the charge.

Mississippi's opening didn't go very well...

Last week, schools in Corinth, Miss., welcomed back hundreds of students. By Friday, one high-schooler tested positive for the novel coronavirus. By early this week, the count rose to six students and one staff member infected. Now, 116 students have been sent home to quarantine, a spokeswoman for the school district confirmed.

We need data to make an informed decision and we have states/govs willing to lead the charge. Let's use that information to make the best decision on what works.

It’s not necessary to completely close all schools. The state has already made a ruling on this, and many parents who have evaluated the risks and benefits want their kids back in school.

Most private schools are reopening face to face. If done right, it can be done safely. Families that have concerns should be allowed to choose distance learning.
