Are the good people and mayor of Minneapolis going to allow this exclusionary, unjust practice to continue?

"MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Some people feeling unsafe in the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis street have put up barricades at both ends of their street to block traffic from getting through.

In less than two weeks, neighbors say their community near Lake and Cedar has transformed......"

If the city fails to ensure their safety, I will not criticize the people for protecting themselves by whatever means are necessary. Most of the people in this neighborhood are solid citizens.

Maybe they need to take a page from Powderhorn Park's playbook and be more inclusive and understanding.

They welcome all and have no use for the police.

Did you attempt to turn down this street and got denied? I don’t understand your point of this thread?

Since the residents in the first article worked with the police on this plan, your statement is obviously false. Now maybe you should go pound sand.

Sounds similar to the barricades put up at the Seattle CHOP, except THESE barricades are meant to keep the thugs and lowlifes OUT instead of IN.

Sounds like when the Mayor of Seattle thought CHOP was a big block party and they were in for a "summer of love". How did that turn out?

I wonder if they are enforcing mask wearing at the tent camp in powderhorn... 700 people in such a small area.

Nope.

Another example of citizens having to make up for the lack of leadership and protection by their elected officials.

I'm fascinated by the recent abysmal failures of said leaders in modern day cities such as Seattle, MPLS and NYC to protect people and property.

Not to mention the Stockholm Syndrome that seems to have affected residents in MPLS's Powdwerhorn Park section.

Reality TV at its best
