Just so you know, 3M sold their campus in west Austin and relocated to a smaller leased facility after downsizing their presence there.

They’ve had ups and downs in Minnesota, fluctuating with the economy and trade issues, but they’ve certainly invested in Minnesota too.

I think it’s a fair criticism. I’m sure that you’ve been here long enough to remember when the focus of this forum was to provide each other with city data. That mission seems to have gone away completely and now this place has been relegated to nothing more than a haven to nasty partisan bickery.

I notice there haven’t been any inquiries from people considering relocating to the Twin Cities. When someone asks about an area, people respond but the only inquiries I recall recently were for apartments downtown and off 280.

This thread is about businesses leaving Minneapolis due to the looting and rioting [Mod cut]. This is going to be a long drawn out process since it doesn't look like the City [Mod cut] is capable of learning anything useful.

Even the liberal Star-Tribune had to admit the facts:

Why the Economic Scars of Rioting Will Haunt Minneapolis for Decades
By BRAD POLUMBO

“In the first few days after George Floyd was killed by Minneapolis police, rioters tore through dense stretches of Minneapolis, St. Paul and other metro communities in retaliation, causing millions in property damage,” the Star Tribune summarizes. “In their wake, vandals left a trail of smashed doors and windows, covered hundreds of boarded-up businesses with graffiti and set fire to nearly 150 buildings, with dozens burned to the ground.”

“Pharmacies, groceries, liquor stores, tobacco shops and cell phone stores were ransacked, losing thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise,” the report continues. “Many were looted repeatedly over consecutive nights. Other property — like gas stations, restaurants and even parked cars — was set on fire, with much of it completely destroyed.”

[Mod cut: just stop!]

Every conversation turns out that way lately. It's getting real old.

It really is ^^^.

Not sure if it's even worth to keep this thread open. Nothing of substance here.
The nasty partisan bickery and name calling has to stop, or people will get infractions.

Any business considering relocation INTO Minneapolis might want to be aware of the increase in crime within the central district.

Here is a surveillance video of a late night shootout that happened just this past Wednesday early morning.

Not sure why any business would want to move to Minneapolis at this time, but threads like this provide useful information.

It is posts like this one of yours that promotes the bickering.

Why don't you discuss the topic of the thread?

Do you disagree that businesses are fleeing Minneapolis?

When a business owner states that the business is leaving due to the looting and rioting, do you consider that the owner is lying?

Please contribute rather than flame. Thank you.
