Oh, I was talking about the Twin Cities in general - not Downtown specifically. I, and a lot of locals don't drive Downtown because parking is a pain. I usually take the express bus that runs in from my neighborhood.

Yea, and that's the only reason you don't drive downtown

Correct. I drive to other neighborhoods around the city several times a week. Except Dinkeytown. I hate all the traffic and young drivers there.

There’s actual things in Dinkytown you want to use/see if there wasn’t traffic at all? Unless I’m going to school there, I see no reason to go to that area.

My husband and I enjoy a few of the Asian restaurants there. Also have a friend in the neighborhood.

Is that near the University of Minnesota?

And that might be noticeable were it not for our metro area (alone) having 4X+ the population of your entire state.

Signed, 5th generation South Dakotan whose entire family fled to Minnesota.

Kinda similar to what you might find in underdeveloped countries, "brain drain" and the retention (or return) of college-bound South Dakotans has been a real problem for many years running. As a native South Dakotan in Minnesota, I've been targeted for years by state marketing initiatives like the "South Dakota Roots" campaign, in which the state attempts to get persons working in professional positions out-of-state to 'come home' to their 'SD roots'....

Yes. On the northwest side of the Mpls campus. Stadium Village is on the other end, a neat area in its own right.
