I'll need an old brick building (ideally) A good size, that e can live above and have a shop below (very eclectic: organic vegan coffee and bakery, with lots of artsy stuff for sale, and a music area, and skatebords, gaming stuff, etc,) Where woul.d be the best place to open one? We're still in the beginning planning phase, but I know we won't be able to afford anything too expensive.

TIA!

Oooooo ..... let me know when that opens ... I'll be your first customer!!!!

From Peta's top ten list, Minneapolis seems to have lots of vegan stuff so maybe St. Paul would be a good choice?

I agree with ladyfish - locate in St. Paul, definately.

You should take a look at West 7th street in St. Paul between downtown and 35E. There are some good brownstone and brick mixed-use buildings that have vacancies. I imagine the rent wouldn't be too bad for a decent sized space.

I'm probably guilty of shamelessly promoting my own neighborhood now - I just invited someone on another thread to buy a house over here too.

There are also some good buildings like that scattered around Mac-Groveland, especially along Snelling, but the spaces seem to be smaller than along West 7th.
