So, I was thinking about a place different from where I've been my whole life and I was thinking about the Twin Cities since I have family up there. I like Chanhassen which seems to be a conservative area (I'm socially liberal and fiscally conservative). I want an area that has all four sports teams and a great economy. I was curious what residents of the area think about Minneapolis' Federal Congressman Keith Ellison. I mean, this guy compared the 9/11 attacks to the Reichstag bombing and in my opinion, that isn't cool. I think Chanhassen is my favorite suburb because Prince established his recording studios (Paisley Park) out there.

I grew up in Minnesota for my first 12 years and make an occasional visit back there. I know the first reply to your post comes four years later, but they got another NHL team now. The dislike was probably stronger during the six or seven "dormant" years before Minnesota landed the Minnesota Wild. Actually, people in St. Paul have a reason to like DFW, because the old North Stars used to play in Bloomington. They would not have a hockey team in St. Paul today if it were not for that move.

As for Chanhassen, they also have a very popular dinner theater that is the largest in the country. It is well regarded by most people. As for Keith Ellison I know he is very left of center, but did not know about those comments.

I guess the Dallas Stars did not make the postseason this year and the Minnesota Wild clinched their playoff spot with a win over Colorado today (first time since 2008...playoff drought broken). Thank you, DFW!

Used to live in the Twin Cities and unfortunealy am stuck in Dallas. Take it from someone who's lived in both places, You guys really don't have anything to be bragging about.

The Wolves never ascended the heights. No place to fall to when you have their history. The Mavs, on the other hand, seem as old hat as the Lakers. But Mark Cuban can at least point to one banner. That's not the kind of payoff for an investment he is used to, but it is SOME kind of payoff. As for the Northstars? Ancient history. Cities are used to being discarded by pro owners. Which is why we are so reluctant to pour a lot of money into franchises. No matter how much a city ponies up, we're just toilet paper to them.

I live up here and I'm a wild fan. I really don't care about the Dallas stars at all. When the wild face off against Dallas it's just another game to me. Just like when the timberwolves play the lakers, it's just another game. I don't think Minnesotans get pumped up for any team that is played for any sport against any team in Texas. There are no rivalries.

Glad I used to live in Minneapolis and not Dallas. I might put Atlanta one notch above Dallas, actually, if I had to chose. I have friends that live in Plano (uber-big suburb) and I'm certain the only good thing ever to come out of that town is Frito Lay.

The playoff record in Dallas looks a LOT like in Minnesota.
