Hi all,

My family and I usually get out to Da Cities in July, but no such luck this year. I talked to some folks in Arden Hills around Lake Johanna who said that some lake water levels are the lowest they've ever seen (not spring fed lakes).

So I'm wondering if it's like that all over the metro area? Are most lakes down quite a bit? Are the skeeters pretty quiet?

DenverAztec's photos of the Mississippi showed the river wasn't down too much - I think last year it had massive brown banks. How are the rivers doing?

I think the Mississippi is down quite a bit, at least where I cross the river . The lakes are pretty low, especially in the south metro. White Bear Lake closed some of their beaches because of low levels leading to a rapid drop off too close to the edge of the water. I haven't been out to Stillwater or Hastings lately to see what the St. Croix looks like though. The Minnesota River is really low.

Despite the dryness, I saw many mosquitoes at my house last night. I don't know where they're getting moisture unless they link to drink hot tub water

White Bear is way down. The beaches literally stretch out a hundred yards in some places.

I don't think the Mississippi is down much. I cross it every day and it seems pretty normal, maybe down a touch. It was a good one or two feet higher earlier this spring. As for lakes, I've seen a number of them down a considerable amount in northern MN and WI.
