Is there a lot of crime because they have a relatively high crime rating. Is that true or it it under control?

I know a lot of people in Plymouth. Never heard of any problems whatsoever.

Where did you see this high crime ranking? While every location, even the ritziest of suburbs (Minnetonka is known as one of the more upscale suburbs around, and while Plymouth doesn't have the same upscale reputation it certainly is safe), has crime, neither of these locations has ever, to my knowledge, had a crime problem needing to be brought under "control." I would be wary of your sources. There is not a lot of crime in either place.

Where are you getting your info and what are you comparing it to?

There are some appartments in east plymouth that might be a factor, but it still seems fishy.

Plymouth was ranked very highly in a national best places to live survey. No way it can do that with high crime.

I worked in Plymouth a few years ago and from my experience I could not take any claims of Plymouth having high crime seriously. As far as I'm concerned anyone in Plymouth or Minnetonka who is worried about being a victim of crime has some serious paranoia problems.

Maybe you'll encounter some barking dogs or an underage drinker or a littered cigargette butt or something. I have friends and relatives in both places and they've never had a single crime problem. If someone is telling you that these areas are "high crime" they are having fun at your expense.

Those two suburbs are probably among the lowest-crime areas in the Twin Cities, and the Twin Cities itself has very low levels of crime compared to most other US cities of comparable size.

City Data shows that Minnetonka's average crime index has been below 156 since 1999, and the US average is 320.9.

Plymouth has been under 158 since 1999.

I grew up in Minnetonka, and I can't imagine any "relatively high" crime there, even though some things have surely changed since I lived there. I mean, it's mostly a relatively wealthy bedroom community.

Compare it to any suburb here in Atlanta for a reality check.
