Thanks for all your responses. After seeing the video, which is hilarious by the way, I'm not to sure anymore. I'm from Ohio so I'm okay with winter but from my research, MN's winter is much longer and colder.

It's not that different in the Twin Cities from Ohio, though ... maye 15 degrees colder on average during the winter than Cleveland, and 10 degrees colder on average than Detroit.

The Twin Cities are in the southern part of MN, and it gets a LOT colder a couple hundred miles to the north. The southern part of the state is similar to much of the rest of the midwest (Wisconsin, Michigan, etc.). But with less snow, or at least no lake-effect snow. Northern Minnesota (e.g., International Falls) is 15 degrees colder than Minneapolis on average in the winter, so it can vary a lot depending on where in the state you are.

Detroit, MI (10 degrees warmer than MPLS in winter, same summer)

Cleveland, OH (15 degrees warmer than MPLS in winter, same summer)

International Falls, MN (15 degrees colder than MPLS in winter, same/shorter summer)

I had the misconception that I would pay less property taxes in a high rise condo building. No land. But not so. Golfgal is correct. It is based on value.
