Hey everyone,

After a long year I might have finally landed a job. So I've started my research early but honestly I won't be moving until six months or so from now but I like to start early.

My pending employment is located on Grand AVE. I'm looking to rent a single family house I know searching Craigslist for grand ave brings up a lot but what are some close areas.

Bus service IS A MUST. I'm currently in the north metro and its going to take me an hour and half to get out there (5:40am) so I'm trying to move somewhere a lot closer

Thanks everyone for any and all help I'm really excited and waiting for one more yay to seal the deal but even getting this far is a real motivational booster.

Thanks again!

Confused : do you want the bus service now to get to Grand Avenue from the north metro or after you move to the Grand Avenue area?

Highland Park is an option as well as Cathedral Hill, Mac-Groveland, Union Park, Crocus Hill and Summit Hill

Grand Ave is centrally located, I don't think you'll have problems finding a bus route that goes there.

There is a bus that runs on Grand (the 63), and there are many other routes that pretty easy to get to via that bus.

You could also see what's available in a nearby neighborhood. I live in the Cathedral Hill area and am pleased with living here. I also agree with chilaili's neighborhood suggestions.

Check out the Merriam Park neighborhood too. It's just north of Grand Avenue and west of Snelling.

I live in Merriam Park and it takes about 3 minutes to get to Grand Ave in my car. Buses are all over the place so I wouldn't worry too much about commute times if you lived closer. I suggest Merriam Park, Highland Park, or even the Mendota area.
