A friend once took me to Minnehaha Falls in the Winter. I thought she was crazy. But it was really cool. We even took pictures. Other than that, I agree with Slig, wait for Summer to see the lakes.

Yeah, but the OP said he wasn't going to BE here in the summer. I'm just saying he shouldn't pass up a visit to the lakes on his trip to Mpls, even if they are frozen. They are arguably the most remarkable feature of Mpls., frozen or not.

Hey everyone, I have been taking your advice. I went to the Guthrie Theater and walked/drove around that area and I went to the St. Paul Cathedral and drove around to look at all the very pretty houses. Now trying to decide what I want to do today. Maybe Mall of America.

-Mall of America is a solid winter weather destination in my opinion.
-If it's during the day the Minneapolis downtown skyways, IDS Crystal Court area is worth checking out.
-If you like sports you have the Wolves at the Target Center in Minneapolis and the Wild at the Excel in St. Paul.

I hate the cold so I basically avoid any outdoor stuff like the plague Dec-Feb.
