You should check out Delano. Its a great community that would fit the needs you described perfectly.

We just got back our Quality of Life Survey results and you can see some of them at http://www.delano.mn.us/Delano_Memo/QLS.pdf. You can also learn more about the community from www.facebook.com/spiritofcommunity or Delano (cityofdelano) on Twitter

Wow, Delano sure has a lot of fans That community is on my short list.

10,000lakes...we would be moving from central Illinois...not Chicago, but from a suburb of a community with a major university.

Several other people have suggested Buffalo to me. I will have to plug in some addresses into Mapquest and see what the predicted commute time would be. It might be too much.

Since our kids currently attend a small Catholic elementary/middle school, I am leaning towards keeping them in a Catholic school after the move, in order to help the transition for them. As far as high school goes, I am open to either public high school or Catholic. I think that I read something about a Catholic high school in Victoria? I imagine that many communities that we are looking at feed into that high school.

Forgot to ask about the soccer situation in this area of the country. Both DS10 and DD9 play competitive soccer and will want to continue that. Anyone know of any good club teams?

Also, thanks for the realty website link. I appreciate any and all leads...I am feeling rather overwhelmed right now.

Wright County Soccer

Wright County Soccer services both Delano & Buffalo, they have competitive traveling soccer. Delano also has a rec program, I'm sure Buffalo does too.

My in-laws live in Buffalo- it is bigger, the schools are not ranked quite as highly, but aren't bad by any means. It's a nice town on a lake. I would say it's about 15 extra minutes to get to the area your husband is working from Buffalo. They have a hospital, target, walmart, a couple grocery stores, more fast food, etc. The hospital is one we go to for more minor issues (stitches) but I wouldn't feel comfortable having surgery there particularly. Just my opinion.
