Looking for some date ideas for this weekend? A fun restaurant that is medium priced? And something else to do either before dinner or after? Anyone have some good ideas? Dont go on too many dates and havent lived here too long so I dont have a clue. Oh, i'm 24 if that helps.

331 Club for a drink and then across the street to Erte for dinner is always nice. Otherwise any place on St. Anthony Main area and a walk on the Stone Arch Bridge if the weather is suppose to be nice.

Have you been to the Bakken Museum? It's a fun place, and I think would be a fun pre-dinner date (weird as it might sound); it's an old mansion on the shores of Lake Calhoun, and it's a museum of magnetism and electricity. Their website plays up their family programs, and they do have them, but it's really not generally a kid kind of place. They have weird inventions on display, and there's a neat multimedia Frankenstein show tucked away in the back. It starts on demand -- you push a button, settle in on the bench, and enjoy the show. You don't have to care about the history and culture or science of magnetism or electricity to enjoy the place -- it's just a strange, interesting, place with odd things to look at (good conversation starters!) and a beautiful and typically fairly quiet setting to wander around in. (if you're not worried about looking cheap you can usually check out free passes from the Hennepin County Library if available) You could then walk around the lake (or drive) to have dinner at the Tin Fish on the banks of Lake Calhoun; it's a casual kind of place right by the water, but has a whole range of food (mostly affordable) and they do serve wine. I haven't been there yet this year, but if the weather is nice it will probably be pretty busy. Seating is all outside (mostly covered, but still outside) so it's not the best option if it's cold.

The Stone Arch Bridge is always a good option.

lol I have been to that museum kindda interesting, and at times I question the location of it (as to why they chose that particular place). May be there's some association with property owner and the museum.

In terms of Web resources, obviously CitySearch seems to be the major player and a place I often go to for date ideas, however this site has provided me a lot of useful ideas in the past, too: http://www.fadigest.org

As it says, there's a focus on outdoor-related stuff, which is perfect for this time of year!
