We've recently moved to Rosemount (and loving it ) and would love to get out and enjoy some fireworks on the 4th as a family. Any suggestions for a great place to have a picnic and take in some fireworks in the metro area would be appreciated. Thanks all and have a fun and safe 4th of July.

Stillwater. They blow them off right over the river. You can either be in the river on a boat or in the huge park in Stillwater. The booms echo down the river valley.

If you are going to Stillwater make sure they are doing them on the 4th and not for Lumberjack Days at the end of July--they sometimes do that. Pioneer Park is the best place to watch them in Stillwater. Apple Valley has some too--we can watch them from the comfort of our own front yard too . Taste of MN has them in downtown St. Paul set to the music of the Minnesota Orchestra. They are really cool!

The do them in Stillwater on the 4th and for Lumberjack days and they are always on the 4th. None of this 2nd or 3rd crap based on what day of the week it is.

The ones at 'the Taste' are cool too as you have the capital in the background.
