I lived in Miami for a couple years. The roaches kept hogging the covers when I was trying to get to sleep. I could do with shorter winters, but I appreciate spring.

You can find flights to Florida for under $100 each direction right now.

I was outside last night shoveling the walks and alley by my NoMi home, and as I stopped to stretch and catch my breath, I marveled at how beautiful my neighborhood was. The dirt and the poverty is tucked away under a comforting blanket of snow - all sparkly and shiny, like one of those turn-of-the-century postcard villages. Of course, it helps that I have all these classic, 100 year old houses around me. It is the neighborhood our grandparents would have grown up in, had they lived in the city. Those folks in Vinylville have no idea what they're missing...

I enjoy it for the first month or so. Then it turns into a pretty bitter hatred lol. Times like today? February 1st, -15....30's through the weeknd then back down to frigid. It's enough to drive you mad! Mother Nature is a tease.

Spring is just around the corner everybody (: We are gaining 3 minutes of light a day now. By the end of this month, the average high nears 40F. Enjoy the transition while you can because before we know it everyone will be complaining about 90 degrees and high humidity.

I know, it's a little known fact that vinyl siding creates a force field that repels snow and cold as I post while enjoying a Pina Colada from my back yard where it is a balmy 80 degrees

I enjoy the noticable lack of Mosquitos and Tics. Actually love it when the temps are above zero but below 32. When it's cold, I adapt. I'd rather bundle up than swelter in the humid heat of summer.
