The closest Walmart might be in Winkler, Manitoba. Roughly 35 miles away. There's also one in East Grand Forks, MN around 75 miles away.

Shopping centers and jobs are too nebulous to easily search for.

Oh, you want to WORK at Walmart? Ok. That's probably not a good one to consider, then.

Why Saint Vincent? It's population was 64 as of the 2010 census ... not exactly a place bustling with job activity, I suspect.

No walmart in EGF....we do have a Pamida. Walmart supercenter is in Grand Forks and there is a small town size Walmart in Thief River Falls and Crookston though.

What about Moorhead...? Granted it's bigger, but not far to "rural" life. But there are a lot of pros to that area.

I live in Detroit Lakes and it offers many of the amenities- disabled bus service, hospital, clinics, etc... without the bustle of big city living. Town of 7500 (swelling to 10k in the summer due to the lakes).

Duluth comes to mind too (or one of it's suburbs).

I would recommend either Rochester or Mankato, Both cities have decent public transportation, little to no traffic and very limited crime. If those are larger then your preference St Peter also has a public bus service quiet and only 10 min from Mankato.
