we may relocate to Rochester for a Mayo clinic job, and plan to live in the downtown of the Rochester.
one thing we concern is if there is any organic food store there?

the other thing is i am an architect, are there any architectural jobs around Rochester?

thank you .

There is a Co-op in town, not in the downtown area though. There is a summer farmer's market and an indoor winter farmer's market. Some grocery stores also carry some organic products.

Not sure about architectural jobs.

thank you for your reply.
i thought the organic food store should be popular there, since most of people are working in hospital. they must care about health eating a lot.

The Mayo Clinic has a cafe in the healthy living center (the gym) that emphasizes on healthy food, and they have a corner of farmer's market that sells some fruits and produces too, along with a few products. Not a large selection but convenient to pick up.

We have a Trader Joe's too that just opened half a year ago. Nearby TJ is Zzzest that sells gourmet cheese, spices and other cool food stuff (they have a cafe too).

The Good Foods Store near Hyvee Barlow is your best bet. Although they are overpriced and sometimes you can find the same items for less in the health section at Hyvee Barlow. We also have Trader Joe's now. ZZzest has some products too, but a lot of their stuff is fancy European brands and they are very expensive. I buy all my organic stuff at Hyvee Barlow. They are my fav grocery store.

Hi! I just wanted to add that, if you chose to live in the the Kutzky Park neighborhoood, you'd be an easy walk to both Mayo and the Good Food Store, at its current location. There has been talk of relocating the Good Food Store to a more downtown location -- but I'm not sure what the timeframe is on that (there's a good deal of planning going on with the expansion of UMR downtown-- I think it could really perk things up over the next few years!)

Rochester MN has a wonderful large organic food store just a few blocks from downtown. I've been a member for almost 30 years. We have a good sized store, a suppliment section, personal care items, fresh eggs and cheeses of many kinds, foods to go, safe cleaning products, a large fresh vegetables section, a large bulk room where you cam buy anythng from beans to nuts, spices, flours, rice, cereals, pastas, oats and other grains and much more.
We have our own deli inside the store - WE HAVE IT ALL, and it's ALL ORGANIC!!! It's a beautiful place to shop, be a member and part of its community. Look us up on the web; Rochester Good Food Store Co-op.
I look forward to meeting you! Yes I believe that you will be able to find an architectural job here!

Smile Looking for new home

Female looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in the New York Mills MN, Ottertail, Wadena or Perham area from a private owner. I have a tiny smooth short haired 2yr old (housemate) Dachshund brought up in the apartment I've lived in for 23 years. I am living in Roch. MN and am wanting to move closer to my family. I am on HRA. As an artist, I'm a painter, ceramic artist, and a writer. I have been working with abused women and children through art for 20 yrs, and with children in school and Community Ed. I've been active in the community, and have been President of Rochester's organic health food store for years.
I love to garden if possible even in tiny flower bed of mixed flowers and herbs. I've pretty much taken care of the yard to the apartment house for as long as I've lived here. I'm a quiet person, just my dog & me, keeping an eye on things as I'm the youngest of our 3 apartments. But not that young.
My family lives in this area, the McGowans, & Murphys, and now Longs. I am missing family. If you have an affordable apartment and am looking for a quiet, respectful, LONG TERM trustworthy tenant please contact me.
