Anybody have or use currently those older hand warmers that have the removable lid, you drip the lighter fluid (not the kind used to light charcoal) typically used for zippos and such, then lighting the wick on top under the removable lid,. letting burn for a minute or so, then blow out the small fire and replace the lid.

These give off alot of heat when full will heat for over 8 hours.

I, have three of them that are from the mid 70's, work great

Typically on the removable lid there is a punched out design sometimes of snowflakes or star design.

Don't turn it up side down when it's burining.

Does it do exciting things, like blow up?

It likely will drip a stream of lighter fluid into your pocket. Not a good idea.

Nowadays I keep one of those "hot hands" reusable hand warmers with the eutectic salt solution and the clicker that triggers the solidifying reaction. I've had one for at least 5 years, and it works fine.

If I were spending an overnight outdoors, I'd want one of those Zippo-style lighter fluid ones.
