Hello everyone!

We're thinking of moving to Minneapolis, MN in the near future. We're hoping to buy some property to rent out to someone until we move to MN for good. We're looking for an area within the city limits, with low crime rate and with excellent schools near by.

Could you, please, suggest some awesome location for renting out a 3 bedroom house? We'd appreciate some referrals for a real estate agent and a reputable property management company in Minneapolis, too.

Many-Many Thanks!

What's your budget? Low crime, great schools, and eternally popular with both longtime residents and new transplants would be somewhere like Linden Hills or some of the other SW neighborhoods ringing Lake Harriet (Fulton, Lynnhurst, East Harriet, etc.). Equally good schools but generally at a lower price point would be Armatage or Kenny. All of the middle and elementary schools in those areas are very good; most of the area (atlhough not Lynnhurst and East Harriet, I believe) feed to Southwest for high school. Lynnhurst, East Harriet, Kingfield, Tangletown, feed into Washburn. Those areas are still very popular, but FWIW Washburn still doesn't have the reputation as does Southwest, which is at least something to consider. That is changing, however, and more and more parents are actively choosing to go with Washburn.

Other parts of Minneapolis are great, too, but the zoned high school could be an issue.

Thank you so much for your response.
The budget would be >160k for, hopefully, some foreclosed property. Is that possible?
Thanks again
