This is your place to discuss the non-meteorological signs of seasonal change in locations across our big and diverse state.

Currently, in an undisclosed location slightly outside Duluth city limits, a good part of the deciduous trees now have visible leaves on them, though they aren't fully mature. Most others are budding; the first visible leaves appeared about 5 days ago. Some flowers have already bloomed in the wetlands; the first "flowers" started to bloom on some bushes over a month ago. I don't know the names of the various fauna here, but birds are beginning to tweet and have been for about the past two weeks. I first heard crickets chirping on about March 20th, which handily beats the old record of March 31st, 2010.

Normally, the trees at least are not this advanced until about May 20th.

What's the status of seasonal changes in YOUR location? I intend for this thread to last well past the current Spring and be your destination to post all seasonal-related changes in Minnesota.

The first sightings of Canada Geese returning is always cool.

The Redwing Blackbird return is neat, when they hang out in our trees and call.

My lawn looks like I live in Arizona. Don't know what that's a sign of other than the grass is always greener on the other side.
