85% White compared to states like California or even Washington state. Minnesota has a still long way to go in the diversity department.

Get out much? We are surrounded by states that are no more or even less diverse than MN. WI, IA, SD, ND, MT, ID, CO, NE, WY, UT.

Sorry, but we don't have a long way to go. We are what we are. Period. We sure as he** don't want to be California. Are we supposed to recruit minorities or what??

Not diverse?
Ethnic diversity has increased in recent decades. Substantial influxes of Asian, Africans and Latino immigrants have joined the descendants of European immigrants.
We also have a large Mung and Somalian populations.
We did actively recruit many refugees.

Even in rural Washington state, as I got away from Seattle area, I still saw a decent amount of Asians and Native Americans. In Minnesota, as soon as you go away from the Twin Cities, you see nothing but White people pretty much unless you go to a Native American reservation in northern Minnesota. Minnesota is truly one of the Whitest states that I ever seen.

You obviously haven't been around the northern half of the country very much.

There are historical reasons for the population mix you see in any given location. Minnesota was settled by Scandanavians and Germans for the most part, didn't have any slaves, and isn't very close to a sea port or the Mexican border. It's also cold here in the wintertime, which turns off a lot of immigrants from warmer climates (including the southern US).

What do you expect? Washington is on the ocean, and it has a milder climate.

So.
What is your point?
We don't have a sign up at the border waring minorities to stay out.
If they wanted to live here they would and could, some do.
We don't have a large KKK fallowing.

Coming to MN and complaining about the "whites" in the area is like complaining about all of the minorities in California.
To what end?

Don't take offense when you read things like the "great white north"
as we're not talking about skin color.
