I really love the Twin Cities. It is truly one of the best cities in the country, and I thoroughly enjoy
myself everytime I am there. Minnesotans are truly some of the nicest people a man could ever hope
to meet.

Of course, I am no expert on MN so I was wondering if there was anywhere within 30 miles or so of the cities that had some degree of flashiness to it. A neighborhood where people drove ferraris and shopped at Louis Vuitton and don't know what ice fishing was.

I'm just asking because every state seems to have this type of neighborhood except Minnesota and I was curious if it existed and if it didn't why not?

Not in MN, sorry. The closest you will find is either Edina, Wayzata or maybe Dellwood, but even in those areas, you aren't going to find Ferrari's very often if at all.

If you've attended the Italian car show on the west side, you will see some rather nice vehicles, including a Lamborghini Aventado and plenty of classic Ferraris.

I would agree with golfgal on Dellwood, Wayzata...maybe Tonka Bay.

There was an article a few years ago from the WSJ that talked about how the rich hid their wealth in Minnesota and didn't flaunt it like in other cities. Many people here have a lake home/cabin, so even the wealthy probably know about ice fishing.

I'm not sure if any of the states bordering Minnesota would have such a neighborhood. Maybe somewhere near Milwaukee?

Agreed with the others...certainly compared to other places MN and its culture is somewhat self-effacing and/or practical, which discourages such flashiness. Some might call it the "Lutheran DNA" in our blood. I also have heard, again relative to other places, MN is somewhat more insular in that many of us don't leave (which may contribute to the argument it's such a great place). That only tends to reinforce keeping to the more practical nature.

Admittedly somewhat contradicting myself, I might suggest part of the reason we are so darn nice is because we aren't quite so flashy...

Not going to find it in Minnesota. However, there's a rumor that a Ferrari drove through South Dakota about 3 years ago. Now that's class.
