Check out the Mill District right where downtown meets the Mississippi River. I think there may be a farmer's market, but not sure if it is Saturday or Sunday. You can easily walk it or take Segway rides as well...not sure about the rental cost. The Guthrie theater has something called "The Endless Bridge" and you do not need a theater ticket to walk on it.

Walk across the Stone Arch bridge to the St. Anthony Main area. I did so on my last visit. You can enjoy a burger and beverage at Tugg's Pub and get a river and skyline view. There are other eateries there as well.

The Walker and the Sculpture garden. A tour of that Catholic Church, Loring Park. Not downtown - Minnehaha; Afton Alps or any of the state parks.

Ice skating at the Depot downtown, they also have a swimming pool. A bit spendy for a large group.

Swedish Museum in Minneapolis, younger kids think it's a castle.

Yes Macy's flower show is great for kids, then go upstairs to the 12th floor restaurant.

The Russian museum on Diamond Lake Road and 35W has a great questionnaire for kids to fill out about the paintings. My nephews liked hunting for it and filling in the answers as I explained the paintings to them. In fact we got so caught up in finding the answers that the museum closed on us.

It depends on what time of year you are talking about - there are always lots of events to go to during the sprint and summer. I would recommend checking out the three rivers park district website - they have a lot of fun family programs all year long. Three Rivers Park District If you don't like the great outdoors you might check into Playworks or Adventure Peak in Edina. Another good resource is | Things To Do with Kids

I hope this helps.
