We all know these "top 10" listings are all very subjective, but I thought it was nice that Lanesboro was in the April 2014 issue of Smithsonian Magazine as one of "America's Best Small Towns" (# 10, p. 51). The article's emphasis was on the Commonweal Theater.

It also provides a convenient getaway for people in northern Iowa. LOL. I did not quite have enough time to include Lanesboro on my itinery when I last visited nearly a decade ago. Will have to check it out next time. I understand the Root River trail is popular, too. It was a nice article.
