Hello Anyone know if the area of Gladiola Avenue West, Rosemount, MN a safe place to raise a family. Looking to buy a house in the area, but want to know if the neighborhood is safe and with good neighbors and not getting run down too much...
Any inför would be great...thank you!

Google Maps puts Gladiola Avenue West in Lakeville, in the Valley Park neighborhood, rather than Rosemount.

Assuming that's the street you're talking about, it's a decent area. You'll probably have some traffic noise from Cedar Avenue just to the west, but I don't think it will be unbearable. Bunker Hill Park is nearby, and it's a nice park, as is Valley Lake and some of the other neighborhood parks within walking distance. Plus it is in the 196 school district, which is very good.

I think they are Rosemount mailing addresses in that neighborhood. Yo, Coach....I think you would be hard pressed to find an un-safe area in Rosemount, Apple Valley, Lakeville. Where are you from?

Pretty nice area. I grew up on Fernando Way near intersection of Flagstaff and 164th. Went to Parkview Elementary for a few years. Granted this was back in the 80's, but from what I remember the area was a very nice family orientated area. Extremely safe..

The whole area was new construction around the late 70's early/mid 80's. A lot of split levels. A lot of young families bought around that time, so there were kids everywhere back in the day. I am not sure now days, but I would imagine there has been some turn over and new families moving in. I wouldn't say the area is run down by any means, but you will see some pockets that I would label as "tired" and in need of some exterior updates (a good portion of the neighborhood is getting street work done right now. It is pretty ripped up but its a plus for the future.) I don't think it is necessarily a reflection of the quality of the neighborhood, but maintanencewise, many of these homes have closed in on the timeline for new roofs, siding, windows, etc.

The previous poster is correct - the mailing address is Rosemount. District 196 is a great school district. I want to say the area you are looking at would fall into Eastview territory..?

Anyway, great memories from that area and If I didn't work in Blaine, I would have no issues raising a family in the area..

Have lived in Rosemount for just over a decade. Great little town, great schools, friendly people. Rosemount needs more businesses to expand it's retail tax base. Property taxes are lower in Apple Valley, Eagan and Burnsville. IMO Burnsville schools not so great.
