I just received my section 8 voucher for McLeod county but i cannot find a place. Most places don't have openings until January and i have only 60 days to find a place before i lose my voucher. I found one place that had an opening for November 1 but i was denied for not making 3 times the rent which doesn't make sense to me considering section 8 will pay a majority of my rent, and also a previous eviction from 2012. Which is understandable but my eviction was from when i was pregnant, i couldn't work and couldn't pay my rent which now wouldn't be a problem because my rent will never be more than 30% of my income. I have a 19 month old, i want to be in our own place by Christmas so we can actually celebrate this year, and private owners, apartments or any housing leads anyone knows of would be greatly appreciated. I would honestly settle for anything right about now, i want a 2 bedroom but i would settle for 1 if i have to.
