Well to start off my wife and I are currently living in Florida and I have just received a job offer in St Paul, and we're thinking about making the move. We know its cold but its something we're used to, she grew up in NY and I Michigan. The company obviously tells me such great things about the state but I would like to get an opinion from someone other than a person trying to recruit me. I also want to get a little insight on where to live, here is what we're looking for: We're both outdoors enthusiast we fish, hunt, camp, pretty much anything you can think of so we're looking for a house with some land (2+ Acres) and a little more secluded, I'm not sure how Minnesota is but down here almost every neighborhood has an HOA and we DON'T want one at all! But we do want somewhere safe and with good school districts. Now as far as work goes I will be working from home most of the time but will occasionally have to commute to the city I don't mind a little longer drive but I don't want to be driving 2 hours there and 2 hours home, my wife works in the medical field so we would like to be within close distance to a hospitals and doctors offices. Our max budget for a home is 300k. If anyone can help please chime in, we have only been to Minnesota twice and that was for the interviews.

you won't have any trouble finding acreage for $300K within 50 miles of St Paul, for starters check out Scandia/Washington County

Well you're going to be hard pressed to find many native Minnesotans say anything bad about Minnesota (the roads though. Haha they are trying though). Anyways, you can find plenty of places within 50 miles with land and being in healthcare myself, you'll find plenty of it in Minnesota. Good luck!
