Do you think the moose should be placed on the endangered list for protection?

Definitely! What's going on with the moose in northern MN is serious and alarming. Once they are gone they are never to return. Wildlife like moose, bears, and wolves are what make this Midwestern state so unique and special.

It's actually a very, very sad thing, but I don't think placing the moose on the FWS Endangered Species list will make much difference.

Since the causes of the severe decline in population seem to be an increase in parasites and bacteria in Northern Minnesota because of warming soils and temperatures, I don't know what the gov't can do to "protect and recover" the Minnesota moose population.

Unless placement on the list will help to provide more funding for study. It sure can't stop warming temperatures.

Our best hope is that the Minnesota Moose change their citizenship and move further north into Canada.

That's just a theory and not the consensus yet.

Read the DNR reports. So far the studies show that the moose are dying from brain worm (carried by deer moving north into moose habitat due to warmer temperatures), infections (cause still unknown), and predation on moose already weakened by parasites or infections.

But thar ain't no warming of temtures, thas jess a mad up librul story. Iss coood up in them thar woods!

Just 1/4 degree per year adds up over time.
