There are a lot of artesian wells in Minnesota. Any well that is under pressure (confined aquifer) is technically an artesian well since the water rises in the borehole once the confining layer is penetrated. I think what you mean is a "flowing artesian well" whereby the water rises all the way to the surface. There are fewer of those.

My father grew up on a farm in the Red River valley that had a flowing artesian well. The flow rate dropped over decades as the pressure in the aquifer was reduced from multiple "straws" inserted into the aquifer.

Why do you ask?

There are so many of them. There are a few that are south of Bemidji, several that I know of that are in and around the Duluth area, many in the south shore of Wsc. and many up in the SNF. People stop at some of these and fill gallons and gallons of drinking containers. Many of these have been flowing non stop for many many many years.

Just wondering if anyone on here stops and uses from these.

Well I would if I knew where one was. I can't drink the swamp water they pump into our taps in this small town.
